As my time at Columbia is coming to an end, it feels like everything should be taken care of, but its not. One thing that I am currently working on is my portfolio website, https://guscontreras.myportfolio.com, I have some work up, and have chosen a template, but still have to make adjustments for all of my projects that I plan on uploading. Nothing that I have feels complete, but that might be a good thing. I have never been fully satisfied with what I have had to turn in in the past, but I think that is because I feel like I can do more for the project, which is what I am working on for the rest of the semester.
I have recently also designed a resume and cover letter for myself which makes graduation feel so real. Since I started at my previous college back in 2018 I knew id be graduating but it always felt so far away, but now that I have a resume, cover letter, and a portfolio website in the works, it feels like everything is finalizing. I have been looking at internships being offered for the summer but haven’t had the proper materials in order to apply, and I didn’t want to throw something together with no effort and hope for the best. I plan on finalizing more projects in order to add diversity to my website in the next few days, once I got more works up ill begin applying.
Finally, I have created an instagram (@gusco.pdf) page where ill be uploading some projects that may not be used in my portfolio. I have been telling myself for the past 2 years that ill make one, but because non of my projects have felt fully complete to me, as I mentioned before, I never got around to it. Now that we are almost half way through my final semester, and I am revisiting previous projects to finalize, it felt like the perfect time to start.
